Connie J. Laird

Connie J. Laird, 67, of Cambridge, died Monday (May 3, 2021) at The Beckett House at New Concord.

She was born July 30, 1953 in Cambridge, daughter of the late Allan Laird Sr. and Ruth E. (Hartwig) Laird.

Miss Laird retired after working at Wal-Mart for over twenty years.  She loved her "Wal-Mart family".

She cherished spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Allan Laird Jr. and Thomas Laird; a sister, Karen Trott; and her lifelong companion, James Hollins.

She is survived by her son, Scott Laird of Cambridge; her daughter, Jaime Baker (Matt Watson) of Cambridge; five grandchildren, Cody Laird, Joshua Laird, Braedyn Smith, Zaidyn Smith, and Jaleigh Smith; her sister-in-law, Nancy Laird of Cambridge; a very special niece whom Connie loved as a daughter, Brenda (Lloyd) McGilton; and many other nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Visitation will be held Friday (May 7, 2021) from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will follow at 6 p.m. with Pastor Wib Bragg officiating.
