Corrinne S Calvert

Corrinne S. Calvert, 73, of Cambridge, passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2023, at Ohio Health Southeastern Medical Center surrounded by her family and friends. She was born on January 4, 1950, in Cambridge. She was the only daughter of the late James and Ruth (Longsworth) Calvert.

Corrinne was a 1969 graduate of Cambridge High School.  After high school Corrinne spent many years working at The Golden Rule Workshop where she made lifelong friendships. Along with her mother Ruthie, Corrinne was a member of Business and Professional Women. She was especially proud of their volunteer work with the "Chips for Shoes" program. In March 2022, after a long retirement, Corrinne returned to Guernsey Industries and participated in the Adult Day Support program.

Corrinne, or "Creenie" as she was known by her family members had numerous hobbies. She was an exceptional embroiderer and would lovingly give her work to others. An important part of her day was reading the Daily Jeff along with church bulletins. Corrinne loved being with people and attending her high school class reunions with her cousin Kathy Calvert was always a highlight for her. Over the years she followed the Buckeyes, the Pirates, the Reds, and of course her beloved Bobcats. She was a devoted and lifelong member of the Ninth Street Methodist Church. Corrinne's life was centered around her family and friends. Whether it was going out to eat, taking rides in the car, visiting family in Pennsylvania, or simply people watching from her porch on 7th Street, Corrinne seemed to find joy in every moment and wanted to share her life and love with others.

Corrinne is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by numerous cousins, countless friends,  her caregivers Joann Wallace and Tammy Shipman and her housemates Yolonda, Patty, and Mary @ the Clark Street Residential Group Home.

The family would like to extend  special thanks to the entire ICU staff of Ohio Health Southeastern Medical Center for their extraordinary care and support.

Calling hours will be held Wednesday, March 15, 2023, from 11:00AM to 1:00PM with the service immediately following at 1:00PM at Thorn-Black Funeral Home in Cambridge. Reverend Nancy Parsons will officiate. Burial will be held at Northwood Cemetery.
