Dale Estep Lodge

Dale Estep Lodge, 85, of Winterset, passed away on Monday, August 19,2024, at Altercare of Cambridge.

Dale was born on January 23, 1939, in Bannock, Ohio, son of the late Mahlon and Florence (Estep) Lodge.

Dale enjoyed farming, hunting, horse showing while his kids were growing up, all things cowboy, and most of all his family. He belonged to Center UM Church, had been a 4-H club advisor and basketball coach, and served his neighbors as a Madison Township Trustee for several years. Dale retired from Alsco in 1995 after 30 years.

In addition to his parents, Dale is preceded in death by his wife of 67 years Carol Lodge; his brothers, Charlie Lodge and Willard Lodge; his sisters, Juanita Laughman, Jeanette Casterline, Phyllis Cramblett, Emily Beal; his grandson, Benjamin Lodge; and his son-in-law, Russ Minton.

Dale is survived by his son Keith (Gaye) Lodge of Winterset; his daughter, Kendra Minton of Pataskala; his sisters, Elaine Bean, Elizabeth Montgomery, and Carolyn Thatcher; four grandchildren, Matthew (Shannon) Lodge, Kymberly Lodge, Katelyn Minton, and Kristen Minton; and his great grandchildren, Lauren and Preston Lodge.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024, from 12PM-2PM at Thorn Black Funeral Home in Cambridge, followed immediately by the service, with the burial to follow at Center Cemetery.
