Dane Fairchild

Dane Elliott Fairchild, 48, of Byesville, passed away Wednesday (October 15, 2008) at his home. He was born on March 24, 1960 in Cambridge, son of Evelyn Marie (Jones) Thornberry and the late Laverne "Whitey" Thornberry. Mr. Fairchild was the co-owner of M&D Heating and Cooling for over twenty years. He was a 1978 graduate of Buckeye Trail High School, where he had played basketball. He was a member of the Roundball Club at Buckeye Trail and was a big supporter of the Buckeye Trail Boys Basketball program. He was also an avid NASCAR fan. Mr. Fairchild was Methodist by faith. He leaves his wife, Linda (Wells) Fairchild of the home, whom he married on November 15, 1997; his mother, Evelyn Marie (Jones) Thornberry of Lore City; a step-son, Brad Cramblett of Westerville; two brothers, Mike (& fiancée, Jackie) Thornberry of Newcomerstown and Jim (& Sue) Fairchild of High Point NC; a sister, Teri Merva of Cambridge; his mother-in-law, Eula Belle Wells of Quaker City; and several nieces & nephews. Family and friends may call on Friday from 5 to 9 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where services will be held on Saturday (October 18, 2008) at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Byesville, with military graveside services conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to any charity of the donor's choice in memory of Dane E. Fairchild.
