Dane E. Lent

Dane E. Lent, 69, of New Concord, died Friday (June 13, 2008) at Genesis Main/Good Samaritan Hospital, Zanesville. He was born on February 5, 1939 in Claysville, son of Margaret (Callahan) Lent and the late Melvin Lent. Mr. Lent served for seventeen years in the U.S. Army. He later retired from the State of Ohio, where he had been an electrician for twenty years. Mr. Lent was a 1957 graduate of New Concord High School. He later graduated from OCS in Fort Benning, GA in 1960, from Quarter Master Officer School in Fort Lee, VA in 1965 and also from Military Intelligence School in Fort Haauchea AZ in 1972. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Scotty Lent. He leaves his mother, Margaret (Callahan) Lent of Cambridge; a daughter, Carmela (& Lex) Hartline of Delaware; two brothers, Paul (& Marge) Lent of Newark and Gary (& Barbara) Lent of Cincinnati; and a grandson, Luke Hartline. Family and friends may call on Monday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at BLACK-EPPERSON FUNERAL HOME, BYESVILLE (231 East Main Avenue). Graveside services will be held on Tuesday (June 17, 2008) at 10 a.m. at the Harmony Christian Cemetery, Valley Township/Guernsey County, with Rev. William Cain officiating. Burial will follow at Harmony Christian Cemetery.
