Danny L. Wamsley Sr.

Danny L. Wamsley Sr., 68, of New Concord, died Tuesday (June 27, 2017) at his residence. He was born August 9, 1948 in Point Pleasant WV, son of the late Charles Wamsley and Julia (Milish) Wamsley. Mr. Wamsley retired from the Highland Market, where he had been a clerk for many years. He had also worked for twenty years in the oil field industry. He attended the Cambridge Bible Church. He loved spending time with his family and watching his grandkids play sports. Other favorite pastimes included hunting and watching football. Mr. Wamsley was a US Air Force veteran. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank Wamsley and Bobby Ray Wamsley; a sister, Betty Wamsley; and a grandson, David D. Wamsley Jr. He is survived by his wife, Nancy (Linger) Wamsley, whom he married November 3, 1971; three sons, Danny Lee Wamsley Jr., David (& Sabrina) Wamsley, and Michael (& Cassandra) Wamsley all of Cambridge; two daughters, Danielle Wamsley of Caldwell and April Conner (& Danny Gatrell) of Cambridge; a brother, Michael E. (& Gloria) Wamsley of Hickory NC; sixteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation will be held Monday (July 3, 2017) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. Burial will be at Williamson Cemetery, Dexter City.
