Darrell E. Steele

Darrell E. Steele, 57, of Cambridge, died Monday (February 7, 2011) at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center, Cambridge. He was born December 15, 1953 in Cambridge, son of Phyllis (Engle) Heskett and the late Lester Clayton Steele. Mr. Steele was a self-employed laborer. He was a US Navy veteran, having served during the Vietnam Era. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Butch Engle, Steven Steele, and Robert McWilliams. He is survived by his mother, Phyllis Heskett of Norwich; two sons, Darrell Steele Jr. and David (& Debbie) Steele; three daughters, Crystal (& Zac) Durbin of Cambridge, April (& Sam) Shivers of Norwich, and Missy (& Mike) Baker of Colorado; three brothers, Bud Engle Jr. of Canton, Lester Steele of Cambridge, and Ricky Hackney; a sister, Mona Black of Cambridge; a half-sister, Cathy Heskett of Norwich; eight grandchildren; and his fiancée, Mindy Frueh of Cambridge. Family and friends may call on Friday (February 11, 2011) from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. Military honors will be conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council.
