David D. "Dave" Harper, 60, of Cambridge passed away Sunday (May 5, 2013) at Riverside Methodist Hospital following a tough battle with cancer. He was born December 1, 1952 in Cambridge and was the son of the late Ralph and JoAnn (Hale) Harper. Mr. Harper was a retired truck driver for Area Transportation. He loved working on cars and watching his grandkids run around. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Terry and Benny Harper; one granddaughter Harley Cobler. He is survived by his wife Debbie (Carter) Harper whom he married November 4, 1994; three sons, Jeremy (Heidi) Harper of Zanesville, Justin (Amanda) Harper of Cambridge and Bo (Jonniesue) Harper also of Cambridge; four daughters, Carla Harris of West Virginia, Michelle (Jason) Baker of Zanesville, Jessica (Travis) Fulton of Cambridge and Janelle Black of Byesville; five sisters, Kathy (John) Fantin of Hilliard, Molly Harper, Kim (Jeff) Graham, Brenda (Charlie) Hutchison and Amy Harper all of Cambridge; fifteen grandchildren, Mark, Ashley, Logan, Lorine, Kamee, Kierston, Marley, Griffin, Zak, Austin, Gavin, Dustin, Dalton, Keira, Morgan and soon to be born baby "Bo" ; two great grandchildren. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge where services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday with Pastor Mark Slay officiating. Burial will be in Northwood Cemetery with military services conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council.
