David "Michael" Grimes

August 7, 1959 — February 6, 2022

David 'Michael' Grimes, 62, of Salesville, died Sunday (February 6, 2022) at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born August 7, 1959 in Cambridge, son of the late David Grimes and Nancy (Thomas) Grimes.

He was a civil engineer for Marietta Coal. He graduated from Zane Trace 1977 and from Belmont Tech in 1979.

Deer hunting was his passion. He also cherished time spent with his grandchildren. David was also an avid fan of the OSU Buckeyes and the Cleveland Browns.

He is survived by his wife Rebecca (Starr) Grimes who he married on June 5, 1982; two daughters Meghan (Chris) Knellinger of Old Washington and Molly (Cale) Johnson of Cambridge; two sisters Dianna (Danny) Baldwin of Cambridge and Julie McEndree of Quaker City; a mother- in- law Linda Starr; three grandchildren Zane Knellinger, Maren and Mac Johnson; His beloved Boxer 'Demi' many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and good friends.

Calling hours will be observed from 4-6pm on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, with a service to follow at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Quaker City with Pastor Jeff Eschbaugh officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in David's name can be made to Lifeline of Ohio, 770 Kinnear Rd, Columbus, OH 43212.

Friends and family are welcome, but due to COVID-19 please take all necessary precautions to ensure your safety and everyone else's should you decide to attend.
