David A. Johnston, 50, of Cambridge, died Friday (November 5, 2010) at his home. He was born September 20, 1960 in Cambridge, son of the late James Johnston and Betty (Shaffer) Johnston. Mr. Johnston was a laborer, working with heating & cooling products for many years. He was Methodist by faith. He was a member of Eagles Aerie #386 and a member of the Pro Bowlers Association. He was an avid football and NASCAR fan. He was interested in all sports. Mr. Johnston was a graduate of Cambridge High School. He is survived by his wife, Melissa (Voorhies) Johnston of the home, whom he married April 9, 2004; a daughter, Lori (Fabian) Seemungal of Cambridge; a brother, Mike (Angie Fair) Johnston of Cambridge; a granddaughter, Olivia Seemungal; his mother-in-law & father-in-law, Linda and Jim Voorhies of Cambridge; two nieces, Angie Kenisell and Corinne Mihalik; a nephew, Caleb Mihalik; a brother- & sister-in-law, Joe and Shannon Mihalik; and many close friends. Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday (November 10, 2010) at 11 a.m. with Judy Crabtree officiating. Burial will be at Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge. In lieu of flowers, a fund has been established in David's name for memorial contributions at Advantage Bank, 814 Wheeling Ave, Cambridge OH 43725.
