David L. Lanning, 66, of Cambridge, died Wednesday (February 10, 2016) at his home. He was born November 27, 1949 in Pleasant City, son of Shirley (Wheeler) Lanning and the late William Lanning. Mr. Lanning had worked as a press operator for the former Cambridge Tool & Die. He enjoyed fishing and working crossword puzzles. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR and the Cleveland Browns. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by a brother, Mike Lanning. He is survived by his mother, Shirley Lanning of Cambridge; two sons, Billy (& Donna) Lanning of Byesville and Travis Lanning of Byesville; a daughter, Jennifer (& Nathan) Anglin of Grove City; four brothers, William (& Betty) Lanning of Cambridge, Robert Lanning of Indiana, Charles "Chuck" Lanning of Cambridge, and Melvin Lanning of Cambridge; a sister, Theresa (& Steve) Larich of Texas; four grandchildren, Amber Lanning, Devin Lanning, Ethan Anglin and Abigail Anglin; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Saturday (February 13, 2016) from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will follow at 4 p.m. with Pastor Keith Taylor officiating. Burial will be at Buffalo Cemetery, at a later date.
