David R. "Mac" McMillen, 65, of Cambridge, died Wednesday (December 6, 2017) at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center, Cambridge. He was born September 14, 1952 in Cambridge, son of the late David Edward McMillen and Joanne "GiGi" (Ryan) McMillen. Mac retired from Southeastern Med, where he had worked in the maintenance department for many years. He was also employed in the oil and gas industry. He was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church. Mac loved to read and was a motorcycle enthusiast. He was a 1970 graduate of Cambridge High School and an active member of AA as well as NA, which he helped to start. Mac was a US Marine Corps veteran and was proud of being a percussionist in the Marines Corps Band. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Rebecca "Becky" McMillen Masters. He is survived by a son, David M. (& Tammy) McMillen V of Brunswick; a daughter, Elizabeth Mayoros of Pennsylvania; two sisters, Terry (& Jim) McFarland of Columbus and Kimberly J. McMillen of Cambridge; Papa "Mac" loved his eight grandchildren, David McMillen VI, Ryan McMillen, Michael McMillen, Isabella McMillen, Makenzie McMillen, Devin Mayoros, Gianna Mayoros, and Aidan Mayoros; four nieces; a nephew; and Uncle "Mac & Cheese" will be greatly missed by two great-nephews and two great-nieces. Visitation will be held Saturday (December 9, 2017) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the McMillen/Masters Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Cambridge City Schools, 6111 Fairdale Drive, Cambridge OH 43725.
