Debra Kay Burke, age 66, of Cambridge, Ohio, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2025, at Grant Medical Center.
Debra was born on October 25, 1958, in Kansas City, the beloved daughter of Clarence and Doyleen Newcomer. She spent her life nurturing others — through her career, her kitchen, and her unwavering devotion to her family.
Debra worked for many years as a Home Health Aide with American Nursing and later in the kitchen at Southeastern Medical, where she found great purpose in nourishing others both physically and emotionally. She had a deep love for cooking and found joy in preparing meals for those she cared about — food was her love language. Later in life, she embraced the role of a stay-at-home wife, where her greatest joy was caring for her family and being a devoted dog mother to Marco and Sienna, her cherished companions.
On April 1, 1978, she married the love of her life, Charles "Frank" Burke, and together they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and family. She was the proud mother of three sons: Ryan Burke (Sarah), Chris Burke (Michelle), and Austin Burke (Morgan). She was also a beloved grandmother to Nicholas Biddinger, Brody Burke, Vanessa Fannin, Isabella Burke, Gabrielle Burke, Nevaeh Burke, Easton Conlon, and Payne Burke, and a proud great-grandmother to Noah.
Debra is survived by her loving husband Frank, her three sons, her brother Robert Newcomer and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Doyleen Newcomer, and her sisters, Brenda Batten and Pam Pifer.
Debra is one of Jehovah witnesses and will be remembered for her warm heart, her deep compassion, and the way she made every person feel like family. She had a gift for bringing people together, whether around the dinner table or through her acts of quiet kindness. Her strength, love, and selflessness leave behind a legacy that will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff at Grant Medical Center for their care and compassion during Debra's final days.
She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
