Debra (Berger) Cooley

Debra Cooley, 64, of Cambridge, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, June 11, 2023, at her home surrounded by loved ones.

Deborah was born on October 15, 1958, in Cambridge, a daughter of the late Richard and Elizabeth (Hill) Berger.

Debra was a former employee of Buckeye Trail High School and Foster Bridge. She was also a lifelong homemaker. Debra was a member of the Abundant Life Church in Cambridge.

She enjoyed horseback riding and spending time with family and friends. She was known to her friends as being pure both inside and out.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, John Berger, two sisters, Margaret Hoopingardner, and Barbara Davis.

Debra is survived by her husband of 45 years, Robert Cooley Sr., whom she married on June 12, 1978, a son, Robert Cooley Jr., of Winterset, two brothers, Richard (Janice) Berger of Cambridge, and Roger Berger of Salesville, one sister, Lea (Jim) Bowman of Cambridge, one sister-in-law, Brenda Berger, three grandchildren, Dallas Cooley, Adam Cooley, and Arabella Grace Cooley, as well as many nieces, nephews, and good friends.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, June 16, 2023, from 5PM-7PM, at Thorn Black Funeral Home in Cambridge. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
