Delbert Val Kunkle, 88, of Cambridge passed away Sunday, May 5, 2024, at Genesis Healthcare.
Delbert was born April 16, 1936, in Newcomerstown, a son of the late Valentine and Mary (Carr) Kunkle.
He was he worked for Cox Cable Company for 45 years as a TV and Cable installer and lineman. He was a Christian by faith. Delbert was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles 386 in Cambridge; Loyal Order of the Moose 631 in Cambridge; VFW Posts 7371 Kipling, 3760 Byesville, and 2792 Barnesville; and American Legion Post 168. He also enjoyed going fishing and hunting as often as he could.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his father and mother- in- law, Dave and Beaulah Williams; his brother, Carl Kunkle; and his granddaughter, Kamie Kunkle.
He is survived by his wife, Cleora (Williams) Kunkle, whom he married February 15,1964; his son, Dave (& Ada) Kunkle of Pleasant City; his daughter, Diana Kunkle of Newcomerstown; a sister, Lova Kunkle of Newcomerstown; six grandchildren, Cody, Sean, Jeremy, Daniel, TJ, and Nicole; and several great- grandchildren including Kendyl. His memory will also be cherished by several good friends and his dog, Dart.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 9, 2024, from 5PM to 8PM at Thorn- Black Funeral Home in Cambridge. Funeral Services will be held Friday, May 10, 2024, at 11AM at Thorn- Black Funeral Home in Cambridge. Burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery in Byesville. Pastor Jeff Bergeson will officiate.
