Delmar H. Gregg

April 21, 1943 — June 13, 2014

Delmar H. Gregg, 71, of Quaker City, passed away Friday (June 13, 2014) at the Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling WV. He was born April 21, 1943 near Seneca Lake, son of the late William G. Gregg and Vivian (Williams) Gregg. Mr. Gregg worked for Muskingum Watershed at Seneca Lake Park and Pleasant Hill Lake Park. He also served as superintendent of Charles Mill Lake Park. The beckoning call of home was so strong that he moved his family back to his parents' farm in 1972, where he lived the rest of his life. He absolutely loved Wayne Township in Noble County. He served as township trustee and was a bus driver for Noble Local Schools for many years. Prior to becoming a trustee, he worked in the strip mines. When friends would drop by, they were always entertained with discussions by Delmar while sharing his "Natty Light." He farmed the home place until his death. He is survived by his wife, Jane (Bailey) Gregg, whom he married August 4, 1963; a son, Jeffery (& Theresa) Gregg of Eagle River, Alaska; a daughter, Jennifer S. Gregg of Flushing; his grandchildren, Justin Gregg, Ashley Gregg, Rachel Gregg, Noah Wimer, and Zachariah Wimer; a brother, Dwain (& Marilyn) Gregg; two sisters, Nellie (& Carl) McEndree and Shirley (& Steve) Harris; two sisters-in-law, Bonnie Bailey and Judy (& Dan) Hoffmann; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Quaker City, where funeral services will be held Wednesday (June 18, 2014) at 11 a.m. with Pastor Jeff Eschbaugh officiating. Burial will be at Friends Cemetery, Quaker City.
