Deloris Jean Nicholson

Deloris Jean Nicholson, 93, of Cambridge, died Tuesday (April 20, 2010) at the Cambridge Health & Rehabilitation Center. She was born August 5, 1916 in Wirt County WV, daughter of the late Warner Daugherty and Carrie (Woodyard) Daugherty. Deloris worked for many years at Smitty's Sandwich Shop of Cambridge. She was Methodist by faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband, Charles Nicholson; a daughter, Carolyn Holt; and two grandchildren, Angie and Pamela. She is survived by two sons, Clayton (& Pat) Nicholson of Marietta and Roger (& Mary) Nicholson of Marietta; a daughter, Sharon Wittekind of Cambridge; a brother, Perry (& Mary) Daugherty of Elizabeth WV; and five grandchildren, Greg Nicholson, Scott Nicholson, Stephanie Thompson, Chad Wittekind and Joey Reynolds. Family and friends may call on Thursday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will be held on Friday (April 23, 2010) at 1 p.m. with Evang. Woody Biggs officiating. Burial will be at Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge.
