Dennis J. Wells

Dennis J. Wells, 56, of Lore City, passed away on Thursday (Nov. 24, 2016) at his home.

He was born Sept. 18, 1960, in Barnesville, a son to the late Clarence and Marcella (McVey) Wells.

Mr. Wells was employed at the Cambridge Developmental Center for nearly 20 years in the maintenance department, retiring in 2014. Dennis enjoyed the outdoors. He liked to hunt and fish with his brothers, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family and especially his three grandsons.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Gary, Mark and Dwaine; and a brother-in-law, Robert Steele. Survivors include his wife, Carol (Roe) Wells, whom he married Jan. 11, 1979; one son, Dennis (Jordan) Wells of Lore City; three grandsons, Jonah, Owen and Brian; three brothers, Clarence "Rawlie" (Diane) Wells of Quaker City, Francis (Phyllis) Wells of Strasburg and Bill Wells of New Philadelphia; four sisters, Sandra Steele of Fairview, Patsy (Benny) Ankrom of Barnesville, Marsha (Kim) Ankrom of Dover and Julie (Danny) Peters of Quaker City; and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Monday (November 28, 2016) from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home in Quaker City with funeral services scheduled for 2 p.m. with Glenn Roe officiating.
