Deward Evans Stalnaker, 86, of Lore City, passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at his home.
Deward was born on January 2, 1939, in Clay, WV, a son to the late Deward and Pauline (Moore) Stalanker.
Deward was a Machine and Computer Operator for thirty-nine and a half years at General Motors. He enjoyed farming, fishing, and hunting. Deward was a United States Air Force veteran.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by four brothers, Steven Stalnaker, Gary, David, and Charles, and his dog, Amanda.
Deward is survived by his wife, Maria (Fonseca) Stalnaker, whom he married on September 30, 1982, four stepdaughters, Veronica (Charles) Sudano of Avon, Blanca (Michael) Ortiz of Avon, Rose (Bill) Miller of Avon, and Marissa Montanez, fifteen grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, and his dog, Benito.
A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at 11AM at Christ Our Light Parish, and calling hours will be held Friday, May 23, 2025, from 10AM-11AM with the service to immediately follow at Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave, Lorain, OH 44055. A burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
