Dixon Joseph Hamner, 48, of Cambridge passed away Friday (August 22, 2008) at his home. He was born June 29, 1960 in Orville, son of Mammie (Simons) Wolverton of Cambridge and the late Paul Wolverton. Mr. Hamner was retired from Cowgill's Plumbing as shop foreman and was a sheet metal fabricator. He was a member of Buffalo V.F.W., enjoyed working with computers, sheet metal and video gaming with his children. He was a 1979 graduate of Meadowbrook High School. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by a brother, Mark Wolverton. He is survived by his mother, his wife, Charlene (Knell) Hamner whom he married May 6, 2006; one son, Dixon John Paul Hamner of Cambridge, two daughters, Angela and Shalene Hamner, both of Cambridge; one step-son, Greg Foster of Cambridge; four sisters, Yvonne Rochester of Cherokee Shores, TX., Brenda Wolverton of Cambridge, Natasha Wolverton of Caldwell, Sylvia Wolverton of Caldwell and one step-sister, Paula Edwards of Cambridge; many nieces, nephews and friends.
