Donald J. Dailey, 81, of Salesville, died Monday (February 3, 2014) at Aultman Hospital, Canton. He was born July 12, 1932 in Old Washington, son of the late Brady Dailey and Eva (Spargrove) Dailey. Mr. Dailey was a strip mine dozer operator for Banco Mining for many years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his wife, Mildred (Morris) Dailey, who died August 13, 2013. They were married on June 28, 1956. Also deceased are two sons, Donald and David; and an infant brother. He is survived by four sons, Edward (& Megan) Dailey of Douglas GA, Robert Lewis Dailey of Byesville, William Dailey of Barnesville, and Richard (& Melissa) Dailey of Barnesville; seven daughters, Sharon Stevens of Kimbolton, Karen (& John) Dailey of Cardington, Louella Dailey of Canton, Judy (& Ted) Teeple of Canton, Christina Whittle of Cambridge, Patricia Dailey of Salesville, and Donna Dailey of Salesville; four brothers, James Dailey of Thornville, Tom Dailey of Florida, John Dailey of Florida, and Frank Dailey of North Carolina; four sisters, Jose Crock of Florida, Hazel Markel of Newark, Betty Sudduth of Old Washington, and Sandy Kay VanEtten of Florida; twenty-five grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren. No calling hours will be observed. The family will hold private graveside services and burial at Guernsey Memory Gardens, Cambridge, at a later date.
