Donald L. Tedrick

Donald L Tedrick, 97, of Cambridge, died Wednesday (March 10, 2021) at Genesis Hospital, Zanesville.

He was born April 1, 1923, in Antrim, son of the late Leroy and Faye (Lake) Tedrick.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Judith (Tilton) Tedrick, whom he married on June 1, 1963, and who passed away on November 13, 2006; and a sister, Grace McConnel.

Mr. Tedrick was a retired mail carrier for the Cambridge Post Office, serving the community for forty-two years.

A distinguished veteran of World War II, Donald served in the "Rainbow Division", and he has been an active member of the Guernsey County Veterans Council since 1947.

His other memberships include 40 years with the Ohio State Highway Patrol Auxiliary, and Post 461 of the American Legion in Antrim.

He was inducted into the Ohio Veterans Hall of Fame in 2019.

Mr. Tedrick was a graduate of Madison High School and a member of the Old Washington United Methodist Church.

He is survived by a son, Donald Tedrick Jr of Cambridge; a daughter, Carol Tedrick of Cambridge; four grandchildren, Jordan, Amanda, Kaitlyn and Austin; and a brother-in-law, Rev. Jim McConnel.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday (March 17, 2021) from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. with Pastor Clayton Coffey officiating. Burial will follow at Old Washington Cemetery, with military graveside honors conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council.
