Donna S. Buchanan

Donna S. Buchanan, 56, of Freeport passed away Saturday (September 22, 2012) at her home. She was born October 4, 1956 in West Virginia and was the daughter of the late Dennis C. and Loretta (Gibson) Sowards Sr. Mrs. Buchanan was a member of Birmingham Methodist Church and enjoyed gardening, quilting and crocheting. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, Dennis Sowards Jr., Anthony and James Sowards, and one sister Tina Crum. She is survived by her husband Allen Buchanan; two sons, Mike K. (Melissa) McCune and Dakota Buchanan; three brothers, Jeffrey, Darrell and David Sowards; one sister Cheryl Sowards; two grandchildren, Kiersten McCune and Kaitlyn Hileman; cherished friends and neighbors. A memorial service will be held today (Tuesday September 25, 2012) 2:00 p.m. at Birmingham Methodist Church with Pastor Beth Mansperger officiating. Thorn-Black Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
