Donna Eagon, 87, formerly of Batesville, died Friday (August 18, 2017) at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville.
She was born April 2, 1930 in Cambridge, daughter of the late Chester Potts and Mary Jane Hatcher.
Mrs. Eagon owned the Red and White Store in Batesville with her husband, was the deputy registrar in Batesville, and later worked at NCR and Barnesville Hospital. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 578, and was known for her love of dancing and music.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband in 1987, John Halbert Eagon, whom she married on March 16, 1947; and a great-granddaughter, Kelsie Bates.
She is survived by a son, Alan (and Maxine) Eagon, of Quaker City; two daughters, Janet (and Carl) Duch of Senecaville and Kathy (and Terry) Thomas of Quaker City; 11 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Calling hours will be Monday, Aug. 21, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home in Quaker City. Funeral services will be Tuesday, Aug. 22 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Ted Buehl officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Batesville Cemetery.
