Dorcas "Dotty" Jones, 87, of Cambridge, passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at SEORMC. Dotty was born on July 31, 1937, in Akron, a daughter of the late Dewey and Mavis (Lucas) Rossiter. Dotty was a 1955 graduate of Springfield High School in Akron. She was a well-known seamstress and bookkeeper. Dotty retired from the Seminole. Dotty was a member of the Red Hat Society and the Grange. She enjoyed playing bingo and euchre and was known for knitting slippers as gifts for Christmas. Dotty had five generations together at Christmas time; family was incredibly important to her. Her family was first and she enjoyed spending time with them. She was a member of Southern Hills Baptist Fellowship. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, George Jones, a son, Ronald L. Smith, a half-brother, Blaine Rossiter, and a grandson, Randy Smith Jr. Dotty is survived by two sons, Michael (Paula) Smith of Cambridge, and Randall (Debbie) Smith of Cambridge, two daughters, Debbie (Dale) Charleston of Kimbolton and Kim Larrick of Cambridge, her sister, Carol (Lenville) Mash of Akron, and many grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and good friends. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025, from 11AM-1PM at Thorn Black Funeral Home in Cambridge with the service to immediately follow with Pastor Kirk Gable officiating. Burial will follow at Antrim Presbyterian Cemetery.
