Doreen Rinehart, 77, of Port Washington and formerly of Cambridge, died Tuesday (February 19, 2013) at her home. She was born June 24, 1935 in Stapleford, Nottinghamshire England, daughter of the late Charles Sandy and Phyllis (Jennings) Sandy. Doreen attended a Textile Trade School in Nottingham England and began to work for Mrs. Mason's Bridal Shop in Long Eaton, England after graduation. On June 30, 1956 she married Leonard Rinehart, a member of the United States Air Force stationed in England. She and Leonard came to the United States in 1959 to the Dover Air Force Base and then on to several other Air Force Bases. When Leonard was discharged from the Air Force, they established residency in Cambridge OH. In Cambridge, Doreen worked at J.C. Penney's, NCR Cafeteria, and retired after twelve years with Dr. Zosimo Maximo. She was also a volunteer at Southeastern Med for seventeen years. She was skilled in knitting, crocheting, and sewing. She also enjoyed gardening and reading. Doreen was a member and Deaconess of the Church of God, A Worldwide Association. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant brother. She is survived by her husband, Leonard Rinehart of the home; a daughter, Terri (& Steve) Miller of Port Washington; a son, Andrew (& Becky) Rinehart of Pleasant City; a granddaughter, Tonya (& Donald) Sanders; two grandsons, Phillip (& Kimberly) Mozena and Andrew Rinehart Jr.; two great-granddaughters, Zoe Sanders and Brooklyn Sanders; two step-granddaughters, Lisa McFerren and Sheana Foreman; three step-great-grandchildren, Izik Stokes, Alexia Foreman, and Braden Foreman; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews in West Virginia and England. Family and friends may call on Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will be held on Monday (February 25, 2013) at 1 p.m. with Pastor Lyle Welty officiating. Burial will be at Guernsey Memory Gardens, Cambridge, with Associate Pastor Chris Moen officiating. As an expression of sympathy, the Rinehart Family requests that memorial contributions be made in Doreen's name to Community Hospice Inc., 716 Commercial Ave SW, New Philadelphia OH 44663.
