Doris (Cole) Blankenship

Doris (Cole) Blankenship, 86, of Byesville, passed away on Monday, May 29, 2023, at the Beckett House in New Concord.

Doris was born on April 27, 1937, in Logan, WV, a daughter to the late Thomas and Harriet (Marriot) Cole.

She enjoyed reading, fishing, and doing puzzles. Doris was an inspector at a factory where she retired.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a son, Donald Blankenship, two grandsons, Cody Berestoff and Daniel Blankenship, and thirteen brothers and sisters.

Doris is survived by two sons, Rick (Patti) Blankenship of Kasilof, Alaska, and Jerry (Patricia) Blankenship of Zanesville, one daughter, Cindy (William) Smith of Cambridge, eight grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren, and several great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by her Church family where she was known as "Mama B".

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, June 1, 2023, from 11AM-1PM with the service to immediately follow at Thorn Black Funeral Home in Cambridge with Pastor Rodney Reeves officiating. Burial will be held at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in New Concord.
