Doris "Dodie" Callihan, 83, of Cambridge, died Tuesday (January 3, 2012) at the Countryview Assisted Living Center, Lore City. She was born November 19, 1928 in Wharton WV, daughter of the late Rev. John T. Johnson and Amanda (Riggs) Johnson. Mrs. Callihan worked as a nurse and LPN for Dr. Joseph Boyle, the former Cambridge State Hospital, and also Cambridge Health & Rehabilitation Center for many years. She was a lifetime member of the Cambridge VFW Post 2901 Auxiliary. She was well-known for "Dodie's Fudge". In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Callihan, who died January 19, 2000. They were married July 31, 1962. Also deceased is a son, Trent Callihan; a brother, Donald Johnson; and a sister, Lillian Densmore. She is survived by two daughters, Priscilla Lackey of Cambridge and Patricia Lagneaux of Cambridge; two step-daughters, Nancy McKamey of Oak Ridge TN and Janice (& Ray) Fries of Elyria; two brothers, William K. (& Ginny) Johnson of Cambridge and Ray Johnson of Mims FL; two sisters, Jean Westover of Cambridge and Sue (& Raymond) Wagstaff of Cambridge; two grandchildren, Lisa (& Roger) Whaley of Cambridge and Steve Helton of Cambridge; three great-grandchildren, Ethan Helton, Phillip Choma, and Kylie (& Chris) Gebhart; two great-great-grandchildren, Carter Gebhart and Laney Gebhart; two sisters-in-law, Evelyn Wilfong of Mansfield and Barbara Carpenter of Cambridge; and numerous nieces & nephews. Family and friends may call on Thursday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will be held on Friday (January 6, 2012) at 11 a.m. with Pastor Fred Barrett officiating. Burial will be at Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge. As an expression of sympathy, the family asks that memorial contributions be made in Dodie's name to the Countryview Assisted Living Center, 62825 County Home Rd, Lore City OH 43755.
