Doris J. Dearth, 76, of Lore City, passed away Thursday (September 28, 2006) at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center, Cambridge. She was born July 5, 1930 in Kings Mine, daughter of the late Mike and Angie Canel. Mrs. Dearth worked at Universal Pottery, but for most of her life she was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, three sisters, and a daughter-in-law, Sharon Dearth. She leaves her husband, Daniel Dearth of the home, whom she married on February 18, 1950; two sons, Dean Dearth of Lore City and Aaron (& Staci) Dearth of Kipling; a daughter, Denise Dearth of Cambridge; two brothers, Jules (& Edith) Canel of Zanesville and Paul (& Norma) Canel of Cambridge; a sister, Naomi (& Charles) Walker of Michigan; six grandchildren, Christa, Steven, Wesley, Mallorie, Cody and Amelia; and a great-grandson, Ethan. Family and friends may call on Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where services will be held on Sunday (October 1, 2006) at 2 p.m. with Pastor Carolyn Touvell. Burial will be at Friends Cemetery, Quaker City.
