Doris L. Schott, 89, of Cambridge, died Thursday (January 15, 2015) at her home. She was born January 14, 1926 in Noble County, daughter of the late Edward Ritterbeck and Rosella (Arnold) Ritterbeck. Mrs. Schott was a homemaker and a member of the Indian Camp Homemakers Club. She enjoyed quilting. She was a member of Christ Our Light Parish and a member of the Guernsey County Senior Citizens Center. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Schott, who died May 23, 1973; a son, Larry Schott; a daughter, Linda Schott; and two brothers, Richard and James Ritterbeck. She is survived by six sons, James C. (& Diane) Schott Jr. of Orient, Terry J. (& Lisa) Schott of Mount Vernon, Jeffery R. Schott (& Vickie Hall) of Coshocton, Dennis P. (& Beth) Schott of New Concord, Kevin C. (& Cornelia) Schott of Pittsburgh PA, and Patrick D. Schott (& Ella Bateson) of Cambridge; a sister, Marilyn Hayes of Grove City; twelve grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Sunday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge. Additional visitation will be held Monday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Cambridge. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday (January 19, 2015) at 11 a.m. at St. Benedict Catholic Church with Father Robert Borer officiating. Burial will be at Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Cambridge.
