Dorothy L. Bichard, 82, of Cambridge, passed away Saturday (Dec. 26, 2009) at her home. She was born Nov. 10, 1927, in Pleasant City, the daughter of the late Raymond Hackney and Bertha Secrest Hackney. She was a former employee of Salt Fork Lodge, Cambridge, as a housekeeper. Mrs. Bichard formerly attended the Christ United Methodist Church. She loved crossword puzzles. On May 18, 1948, she married Clyde R. Bichard, who passed away June 1, 1969. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters. Survivors include one son, Herman (Gina) Bichard of Cambridge; one daughter, Rhonda (Lee) Jarrel of Wheeling, W.Va.; one sister, Florence Hackney of Cambridge; four grandchildren, Lance (Ann) Blacker, Deanna Blacker, Jill (Luis) Rids and Julia Bichard; and five great-grandchildren. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Carl Christman will officiate. Burial will be in Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge.
