Dorothy Ruth Bonnell

Dorothy Ruth Bonnell, 79, of Old Washington, passed away Friday (Sept. 9, 2011) at Countryview Assisted Living, Lore City. She was born March 7, 1932, in Guernsey County, daughter of the late Carl and Edith (Whitely) Pulley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, William and Emily Whitely and Roy and Opal Pulley; two husbands, Ralph Lynn and Walter Bonnell; two grandchildren, Deanna Lee Bonnell and Timothy Smith; three great-grandchildren, Clinton Huntsman, Kyle Hanes and Eithan Hodkinson; three sons-in-law, John Taylor, Robert McCance and Johnny Taylor; and a brother-in-law, Don Smith. Dorothy retired from the former Cambridge State Hospital after 20 years of service. She was Baptist by faith. She enjoyed auctions, flea markets, yard sales, playing bingo and cards. Her favorite past time was spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include three brothers, William Pulley of Barnesville, James (Joyce) Pulley of Quaker City and Raymond (Kitty) Pulley of Newark; a sister, Wanda Smith of Quaker City; five sons, Robert (Dorothy) Lynn of Massillion, Delbert (Sherry) Bonnell of North Carolina, Sam (Shirley) Bonnell of North Carolina; Raymond (Susan) Lynn and Paul (Brenda) Bonnell, all of Cambridge; eight daughters, Sharon Taylor of Old Washington, Janice (Al) Campbell of Dennison, Mary (David) Clifton of Claysville, Carol Taylor, Barb Hodkinson and Clara (Gary) Wood, all of Antrim, Patricia Lynn and Debbie Alexander of Cambridge; 49 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday (September 17, 2011) at Antrim Mennonite Church, 20360 Cadiz Road, with Ron Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Clearfork Cemetery.
