Dorothy Ellen Geary, 89, of Cambridge, died Saturday (August 27, 2011) at the Cambridge Health & Rehabilitation Center. She was born August 20, 1922 in Glouster, daughter of the late Herb Smith and Lucille (Andrews) Smith. Mrs. Geary retired from the Guernsey County Children's Home, where she had been a cook for many years. She was a 1940 graduate of Homer Union High School She attended the First Christian Church of Cambridge. Mrs. Geary loved to sew, crochet, and cook. She was very generous with everything she made. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Geary; a son, Paul Richard Geary; two sisters; and three brothers. She is survived by a son, Michael R. (Shaun) Geary of Kimbolton; two daughters, Kathleen S. (Brian) Gray of Cambridge and Nancy Geary of Cambridge; a daughter-in-law, Darlene Meiser of Canton; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Jim) Grubb of Wadsworth, Tisha Geary of Canton, Danielle (Jeremiah) Sconiers of Miami FL, Troy (Marcia) Gray of Cambridge, Josh (Angela) Geary of Pleasant City, Rachel (D.J.) Todd of Cambridge, and Sarah Geary of Kimbolton; great-grandchildren, Mitchell Grubb of Wadsworth, Nehemiah and Kincaid Sconiers of Miami FL, Ethan Gray of Cambridge, Katlyn McIntire of Cambridge, and Caitlyn and Andrew Todd of Cambridge; her special friends, Betty and Connie Sivard of Cambridge; and many nieces & nephews. No calling hours will be observed. A memorial service will be held on Saturday (September 10, 2011) at 11 a.m. at the First Christian Church, 1127 Beatty Avenue, Cambridge, with Pastor Dave Brown officiating.
