Dorothy L. Hockenberry, 84, of Cambridge, died Saturday (October 6, 2007) at the Autumn Health Care Center, Cambridge. She was born on July 29, 1923 in Guernsey County, daughter of the late Fred H. Polen and Wilma (Patterson) Polen Bowers. She married Raymond E. Hockenberry on May 5, 1946. Mrs. Hockenberry retired from Bank One, where she had been a bookkeeper. She had also worked at Continental Can, J.J. Newberry Co., Hockenberry Sinclair and Cambridge Superior Dairy. She was a 1941 graduate of Brown High School and a 1942 graduate of Cambridge Business College. She attended the First Presbyterian Church of Cambridge and was a member of the Church Circle. Mrs. Hockenberry was also a member of the Business & Professional Women and the Senior Citizens Center. She was a volunteer at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond E. Hockenberry, who died in 1998; a son, Tony Hockenberry; and an infant sister, Pauline Polen. She leaves a son, Jim (& Wanda) Hockenberry of Cambridge; a daughter, Sherry (& Jerry) Jeffery of Cambridge; two sisters, Helen Jean (& Don) Trott of Cambridge and Lorna (& Glenn) Gibson of Cambridge; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews & cousins. Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 3 to 7 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where services will be held on Wednesday (October 10, 2007) at 11 a.m. with Rev.
