Dorothy Jane Lackney

Dorothy Jane Lackney, 95, of Cambridge, died Saturday (February 13, 2021) at Cardinal Place, Cambridge

She was born September 5, 1925 in Allegheny County PA, daughter of the late Peter Trepack and Elizabeth (Lehotay) Trepack.

Mrs. Lackney retired from Ametek-March Electric, where she had worked as an assembler.

She was a member of Christ Our Light Parish and a member of the Catholic Daughters & CWC.

Mrs. Lackney was a former volunteer at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center and a tutor for Reading Literacy.  She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and her beloved sister, Edna.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Lackney, who died March 13, 2002.  They were married June 8, 1945.  Also deceased is an infant son; an infant granddaughter; and a son-in-law, Brian Farrar.

She is survived by three daughters, Georgia (Gerald) Benson of Cambridge, Jean Farrar of Cambridge, and Patricia (Robin) Johnson of Cambridge; a sister, Edna Abraham of Cambridge; a step-brother, George Ondick of Pennsylvania; a step-sister, Anna Tobias of Texas; five grandchildren, Matthew (Whitney) Benson, Mark Benson, Britten (John) Young, Bennett (Katherine) Farrar, and Erica (Scott) Fearn; and seven great-grandchildren, Jacob Benson, Luke Benson, Liam Benson, Oliver Benson, Miran Young, Eva Fearn, and Nash Farrar.

Visitation will be held Thursday (February 18, 2021) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Cambridge, where a Mass of Christian burial will follow at 1 p.m. with Father Robert Borer officiating.

Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Byesville.

As an expression of sympathy, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to one of the following organizations: 1) Hospice of Guernsey Inc., PO Box 1165, Cambridge OH 43725; or 2) Christ Our Light Parish, 701 Gomber Avenue, Cambridge OH 43725.
