Dorothy Jane McKim, 82, of Cambridge, died Tuesday (November 24, 2015) at Countryview Assisted Living, Lore City. She was born May 12, 1933 in Old Washington, daughter of the late Delbert Slasor and Edna (Miller) Slasor. Mrs. McKim had worked as a clerk at K-Mart for many years. She was a member of the Beckett Avenue United Methodist Church, where she had been a Sunday School teacher, a youth group leader, and a caretaker for the church. She was a 1952 graduate of Old Washington High School. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles McKim, who died December 17, 1979. They were married August 10, 1952. Also deceased is a daughter, Debbie McKim; and a brother, Delbert Slasor Jr. She is survived by her children, Joan McKim of the home, and Kenneth McKim and Robyn Rankin; a sister, Flossie "Irene" Daniel of Cambridge; a sister-in-law, Marilyn McKim of Cambridge; her sister friend, Barbara McKim; and three grandchildren, Alec, Drake, and Regan Rankin. Visitation will be held Monday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will be held Tuesday (December 1, 2015) at 11 a.m. with Pastor Randy Mercer officiating. Burial will be at North Salem Community Cemetery.
