Dorothy Etta Steele

Dorothy Etta Steele, 96, of Cambridge, passed away Monday (October 19, 2009) at the Cardinal House, Cambridge. She was born October 4, 1913 in Cambridge, daughter of the late Earl Turner and Bessie (Stewart) Turner. She married Fred V. Steele on January 9, 1932. Mrs. Steele was a former employee of Cambridge Glass and Superior Model. She was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church of Cambridge. She loved gardening & bowling and enjoyed spending time with her many friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred V. Steele, who passed away March 7, 2005; a son, Fred Clyde Steele; four sisters; and a brother. She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Linda Steele of Cambridge; a sister, Roberta Smith of California; two grandchildren, Cathy Fields of Cape Coral FL and Kammy (& Eric) Gaumer of Zanesville; three great-grandchildren, Aaron Fields and Leah Fields both of Cape Coral FL and Steele Gaumer of Zanesville; and two great-great-grandchildren, Meah Fields and Aaden Fields both of Cape Coral FL. Family and friends may call on Wednesday (October 21, 2009) from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where services will follow at 1 p.m. Burial will be at Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge.
