Earl D. Roe

Earl D. Roe, 60, of Zanesville, died Monday (January 11, 2016) at his home. He was born July 18, 1955 in Barnesville, son of the late Ralph Roe and Millie Faye (Stoneburner) Roe. Mr. Roe was employed with the State of Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles Department of Safety, where he administered drivers' exams for many years. He was a member of the Salesville Church of Faith and attended the East Forty Church of Christ in Norwich. Mr. Roe was a 1973 graduate of Zane Trace High School. He enjoyed golfing and working on his many building and construction projects. He also loved to mow and was meticulous about his lawn. He loved spending time with his family, especially with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife and love of his life, Ellen (Hott) Roe, whom he married June 19, 1976; a son, Dustin (& Devani) Roe of Salesville; two daughters, Natasha (& Andrea) Roe of Jacksonville FL and Alissa (& Joshua) Wilson of Zanesville; four brothers, Bill (& Renee) Roe, Glenn (& Lavada) Roe, Carl (& Debi) Roe all of Salesville, and Brian (& Jean) Roe of Quaker City; four sisters, Martha Ann (& Rolland) Thompson of Lore City, Nancy (& Ben) Hendershot of Salesville, Debby (& Bob) Dilallo of Granville, and Susan Morrow of Blacklick; his grandchildren, Abigail Gregg, Logan Gregg, Lance Wilson, Ella Wilson, Delanie Roe, Darcie Roe, Dawson Roe, and Aiden Collins-Roe; his mother-in-law, Ruby Hott of Salesville; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation will be held Thursday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Salesville Church of Faith, 119 Locust Street. Funeral services will be held Friday (January 15, 2016) at 1 p.m. at the Salesville Church of Faith, with Pastor Perry Baranich and Rev. Jim Lee officiating. Burial will be at Salesville Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Children's Dyslexia Center of Southeastern Ohio, PO Box 1825, Cambridge OH 43725.
