Edith Mae Hudson

Edith Mae Hudson, 85, of Cambridge, died Wednesday (March 19, 2008) at the Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center, Cambridge. She was born on July 19, 1922 in Cambridge, daughter of the late William Schimmel and Bertha (Bench) Schimmel. She married Truman Hudson on November 26, 1949. Mrs. Hudson was a homemaker. She also worked at Westinghouse, where she had been an assembly line worker. She was a 1940 graduate of Brown High School and a member of the First Christian Church of Cambridge. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Truman, who died on July 15, 2000; a sister, Mabel; and five brothers, Harry, Elbert, John, Robert and Roy. She leaves three sons, Thomas (& Kay) Hudson of New Concord, John (& Dianne) Hudson of Byesville and Mark Hudson of Cambridge; two daughters, Marjorie Ruth (& Ron) Van Fleet of Sharonville and Patricia Louise Hiles of Cassopolis MI; twenty grandchildren; and twenty-nine great-grandchildren. Family and friends may call on Saturday (March 22, 2008) from 9 to 11 a.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where services will follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. Nancy Parsons. Burial will be at Guernsey Memory Gardens, Cambridge.
