Edna Mae Ball, 82, of Cambridge, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday (December 5, 2007). She passed away at the Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center, Cambridge. She was born on February 19, 1925, in Cambridge, daughter of the late Lee Roy Bennett and Edna Blanche (Whissel) Bennett. She married James Elmer Ball on March 19, 1941. Mrs. Ball worked for ten years at March Electric. She then retired after working for twenty-three years at the Guernsey Memorial Hospital. She attended the Church of God of Prophecy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Elmer Ball, who passed away in 1991; a son, James Lee Ball; an infant daughter, Sandra Jean Ball; two brothers; and three sisters. She leaves three daughters, Carol Mathews of Byesville, Kathy Kahrig of Cambridge and Sharon Gatrell of Cambridge; a brother, Donald Lee (& Mabel) Bennett of Harrietsville; seven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; a special friend, June Boyer of Cambridge; and many nieces, nephews & friends. Family and friends may call on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge. Calling hours will also be observed on Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Church of God of Prophecy, Cambridge. Funeral services will be held on Saturday (December 8, 2007) at 1 p.m. at the Church of God of Prophecy, Cambridge, with Pastor Steven Mathews officiating. Burial will be at Guernsey Memory Gardens, Cambridge.
