Edna R. Gilcher, 92, of Cambridge, died Thursday (March 12, 2020) at her home.
She was born April 25, 1927 in Byesville, daughter of the late Jacob Gates and Anna (Pezel) Gates.
A 1945 graduate of Byesville High School, Mrs. Gilcher had worked at Cambridge Glass and Cambridge Credit Bureau. She was a lifelong homemaker.
She loved watching high school basketball. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and reading.
Mrs. Gilcher was a member of the 1st United Methodist Church of Cambridge.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond J. Gilcher Jr., who died December 1, 2008. They were married January 26, 1946. Also deceased are two brothers, Chuck and Earl Gates; a sister, Eleanor Hammond; and a grandson, Kent Reasner.
She is survived by two sons, Rick (Karen) Gilcher of Caldwell, Timothy Gilcher (Tina Campbell) of Cambridge; three daughters, Kathryn (David) Selby of Columbus, Linda Reasner of Columbus, and Becky (Dan) Valentine of Cambridge; eight grandchildren, Danny (and fiancée, Jessica Lynn), Danielle, Ashley, Amber, Ray, Ryan, Lindsey, and Jenna; many great-grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews.
No calling hours will be observed. No funeral services will be held at this time.
Burial will be at Northwood Cemetery, at a later date.
