Local businessman Edward "Ed" Secrest Jr., 79, of Cambridge, died Sunday (April 15, 2018) at his home. He was born July 20, 1938 in Cumberland, son of the late Edward Secrest and Rosa (Green) Secrest. Mr. Secrest was the owner of Secrest Disposal and Secrest Carry-Out. He was a very hard worker and enjoyed spending time with his family. He like playing cards when he could. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Ann Secrest Hudson. He is survived by his wife, Norma (Dingus) Secrest, whom he married August 24, 1957; a son, Edward (Lee Ann) Secrest of Cambridge; two daughters, Dolly Arnold (Greg Lanning) of Cambridge and Janet "Buck" Morrow of Cambridge; two sisters, Donna Everly of Caldwell and Doris Chalfant of Byesville; ten grandchildren, Donald Moore, Kenneth Moore, Edward L. Secrest, Jessica Secrest, Jonathon Secrest, William (Sam) Arnold, Jennifer (Paul) Williams, Thomas Arnold, Edward Morrow, and Ted Morrow; six great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews; and a son-in-law, John Hudson of Cambridge. Visitation will be held Wednesday (April 18, 2018) from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will be held Thursday (April 19, 2018) at 1 p.m. Burial will be at Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge.
