Edward "Bill" William Meyers Jr.

Edward William "Bill" Meyers Jr., 74, of Lore City, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family and friends on Sunday (April 17, 2016). He was born February 24, 1942 in Barberton, son of the late Edward Meyers Sr. and Albina (Manning) Meyers. Mr. Meyers retired after thirty-four years with the Babcock & Wilcox Company of Barberton. He then retired to Lore City where he and his wife, Mary, built a home in the woods and lived happily together. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He was a 1960 graduate of Barberton High School and a former member of the Hungarian Society. Mr. Meyers was a member of Christ Our Light Parish. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Thompson. He is survived by his wife, Mary (Ramirez) Meyers, whom he married February 16, 1963; his children, Brian (& Rebecca) Meyers of Pickerington, Chad (& Maria) Meyers of Wadsworth, and Heather Meyers of Pickerington; a sister, Patricia Jones of Canton; two brothers, Joseph (& Peggy) Meyers of Salesville and Jeffrey Meyers of Wooster; three grandchildren, Nicholas Meyers, Megan Meyers, and Jory Meyers; a great-grandchild, Atlas Young; and many nieces and nephews. He was a beloved friend and neighbor of many too numerous to list. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Hospice of Guernsey Inc. for the loving care they provided. No calling hours will be observed. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday (April 22, 2016) at 11 a.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Lore City, with Father Paul Hrezo officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Guernsey County Cancer Society, 927 Wheeling Avenue - Suite 205, Cambridge OH 43725.
