Eileen L. O'Brien, 72, of Cambridge and formerly of Canton, died Wednesday (March 12, 2008) at the home of her daughter in Cambridge. She was born on January 6, 1936 in Alliance, daughter of the late Harold Shearer and Helen (Oberlin) Shearer. Mrs. O'Brien was a marketing representative for Primetime Health Care of Aultman Hospital for many years. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church of Canton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Larry O'Brien, who died in November of 2006; and a brother-in-law, Tim O'Brien. She leaves two sons, Michael O'Brien of Canton and Patrick (& Kathleen) O'Brien of Troy; two daughters, Christine (& Bill) Cowgill of Cambridge and Kathleen (& Christopher) Smitley of Westerville; a brother, Bill (& Jan) Shearer of California; two sisters, Patricia Neiman of Massachusetts and Priscilla (& Karl) Petzinger of Columbus; six grandchildren, Coleen Smitley, Sarah Smitley, Morgan Cowgill, Seth Cowgill, Kyle O'Brien and Sean O'Brien; two great-grandchildren, Courtney Smitley and Easton Cowgill; her mother-in-law, Florence O'Brien of Louisville; and a brother-in-law, Jim (& Doris) O'Brien of Louisville. Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 9 to 10 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 726 Cleveland Avenue NW, Canton. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday (March 18, 2008) at 10 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Canton, with Msgr. John C. Finnigan officiating.
