Elane C. Day

Elane C. Day, 79, of New Concord, passed peacefully at home on Sunday (October 16, 2011) at 8:40 p.m. She was born July 1, 1932 in Cleveland, daughter of the late Owen Osborne and Thelma (Cochran) Osborne. Mrs. Day was a secretary for Twinsburg High School, Lexington Elementary School, and later at Muskingum University. She was a member of the New Concord United Methodist Church. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing. She also enjoyed taking rides through the countryside and photography. She is survived by her husband, Lawrence Day, whom she married June 23, 1951; two daughters, Linda Elane (& Roger) Morrow of New Concord and Barbara Joyce (& David) Cunningham of Cadiz; four grandchildren, David (& Lori) Morrow of New Concord, Nathaniel (& Anne) Morrow of Nashville TN, Danielle Cunningham of Cadiz, and Samuel (& Renae) Cunningham of Carrollton; and six great-grandchildren, Eliza Jane Morrow, Titus Osborne Morrow, Jack David Morrow, Lily Elane Morrow, Luke Andrew Morrow, and Ali Rose Morrow. Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday (October 19, 2011) at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Locust Grove Cemetery, Twinsburg. As an expression of sympathy, the family asks that memorial contributions be made in Elane's name to the New Concord United Methodist Church Scholarship Fund, 20 E High, New Concord OH 43762.
