Eleanore Christine Higgins

Eleanore Christine Higgins, 91, of Cambridge, passed away peacefully Monday (October 10, 2016) at her home at The Cardinal Place, after her third bout with cancer – she had survived two previous battles with breast cancer, which she was very proud of.

Eleanore was born April 10, 1925 in Trumbull County, daughter of the late Martin Kochemba and Elizabeth (Handlovich) Kochemba.

She was first and foremost a dedicated Witness of Jehovah as a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.

She moved to Cambridge in 1956 from Trumbull County to raise her family. She worked for the family business for many years. She also worked for the Cambridge Country Club, as a bookkeeper for Doctor Duff's medical practice, and retired in 1996 after working at Variety Glass for Tom Mosser.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, John, Andrew, Joseph, Edward, and Richard; and three sisters, Veronica, Mary, and Dorothy.

She is survived by five children, Tim (& Laura) Higgins, Martin (& Sandra) Higgins, Mike (& Brenda) Higgins, Melanie (& Brad) Lauer, and Lisa (& Bill) Tarling; ten grandchildren, Scott, Eric, Michelle, Ben, Ryan, Chrissy, Sasha, Kelli, Molli, and Ryan Lauer; several great-grandchildren; and a sister, Helen Wade of North Carolina.

The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at The Cardinal Place and Hospice of Guernsey Inc.

Memorial visitation hours will be held Saturday (NOVEMBER 5, 2016) from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Cambridge, where a memorial service will follow at 4:00 p.m.

As an expression of sympathy, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Guernsey Inc., PO Box 1165, Cambridge OH 43725.
