Elizabeth Anne Shaw passed away peacefully Saturday (Dec. 31, 2016) at her home in Grosse Pointe Park, Mich.
Born Elizabeth Stranathan in Chicago, "Lib," as she was lovingly known by her family and friends, was an elementary school teacher and guidance counselor in Columbus. She received her PhD from The Ohio State University and went on to be a principal at The Miami Valley School in Dayton, and eventually a superintendent at a K-8 school in Wycoff, N.J.
Shaw retired in Grosse Pointe and will be laid to rest in Pleasant City, where her parents had a small apple farm.
Shaw is survived by her son, William David Shaw (Elise); and a granddaughter, Emma Anne Shaw of Chicago.
No calling hours will be observed.
Graveside services and burial will be held Saturday (January 7, 2017) at 11 a.m. at Pleasant City Cemetery with Rev. Bob Howell officiating.
