Elizabeth "Lib" Jane St. Clair, 81, of Salesville, died Friday (December 15, 2006) at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center, Cambridge. She was born May 2, 1925 in Old Washington, daughter of the late Jacob Claypool and Bessie (Stoneburner) Claypool. Mrs. St. Clair was a homemaker. She also worked for Branthoover & Johnson of Cambridge for several years. Mrs. St. Clair served as Salesville Village Clerk for many years. She attended Salesville Church of Faith and was a member of Leatherwood Senior Citizens & The Esther Circle. She was a 1942 graduate of Quaker City High School and also the Cambridge Business College. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard "Babe" St. Clair, whom she married on November 1, 1947; and a son-in-law, Dwain Buchtel. She is survived by two sons, Tim (& Kathy) St. Clair of Cambridge and Pat (& Deb) St. Clair of Lore City; two daughters, Sheila Buchtel of Cambridge and Marna (& Don) Sheppard of Salesville; nine grandchildren, Shawn (& Heather) Buchtel, Angie (& Rod) Gray, Heather (& Dave) Saling, Kellie (& David) Spratt, Todd St. Clair, Steve (& Chris) St. Clair, Justin (& Danielle) Sheppard, Jared Sheppard, and Brad (& Valerie) St. Clair; and five great-grandchildren, Caleb Gray, Lindsay Gray, Carter Buchtel, Abby Buchtel and Sydney Saling. No calling hours will be observed. Private family services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flower, memorial contributions may be made to the Quaker City Volunteer Fire Department. Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Quaker City, is handling arrangements.
