Ellen Louise Brueck, 81, of Dover, died Tuesday (February 17, 2015) at Community Hospice of New Philadelphia. She was born September 18, 1933 in Orrville, daughter of the late Herbert Lautenschlager and Stella (Huntsberger) Lautenschlager. Mrs. Brueck had worked as a medical coder at various hospitals. She was a former owner of the Owl's Nest and helped to manage the Seneca Marina. She volunteered at the Barnesville Library and at a library in Virginia. She enjoyed crocheting and reading. She also loved traveling and camping with her late husband, Al. Mrs. Brueck was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Smithville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred "Al" R. Brueck, who died January 13, 2014. They were married August 28, 1952. Also deceased is a sister, Julia Ballentine. She is survived by four daughters, Barbara J. (& Mike) Moore of Batesville, Brenda (& Steve) Hollingsworth of New Philadelphia, Beth (& Anthony) Brown of Cambridge, and Bonnie (& Stephen) Lee of Warm Springs VA; two sisters, Alice Hunter of Century FL and Karen Myers of Surprise AZ; twelve grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren and two expected great-grandchildren. In keeping with her wishes, her body has been cremated. A private memorial service will be held. As an expression of sympathy, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Community Hospice, 716 Commercial Avenue SW, New Philadelphia OH 44663.
