Ellen Giesey, 67, of Cambridge, died Thursday (Sept. 1, 2016) at Astoria Place of Cambridge. She was born May 29, 1949, in Zanesville, daughter of Mabel (Phillips) Leeper and the late James Leeper. Ellen retired as a nursing aid, having worked at various homes and nursing homes. She was a member of the Cambridge Church of Nazarene. She served as the church Mission President and enjoyed her mission trips. She worked with the Dickens Victorian Village and was a member of the Sunnyside Singers. She liked to cook and travel. She is survived by her mother, Mabel (Phillips) Leeper; her husband, Tom Giesey; two sons, Brian (April) Giesey of Sarahsville and Wesley Giesey of Cambridge; a daughter, Angie Giesey of Cambridge; a special daughter, Kayla King; a brother, Don (Vicki) Leeper of Cambridge; six grandchildren, Alyssa, Cheyenne, Savannah, Laramie and Liberty Giesey, Alexis Adair; special grandchildren, Bladen and Blaze; mother-in-law, Leola "Dick" Giesey; and many church family and friends. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where services will be Wednesday (September 7, 2016) at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Greg Kasler officiating. Burial will follow at Northwood Cemetery.
